Happy Birthday Thomas Duder!

In the year 1980 the world was taken back by the birth of one man... the birth of a man who would one day change the world of reading.

That man is Thomas Duder

Thomas has been through a lot in his life and made lives better for some people, I had the pleasure of knowing this wonderful man back in my days of living in California when I was only a teenager...but he made a big imprint on my life back then  and when he up and left I though that was the last time I would see him.

But after moving here to Washington I meet up with him again getting to renewing the friendship with the man from my past and showing him that I had changed as well...He told me about his book and that I was one of the characters in it...You can guess how happy I was about that :) I got him into his first photo shoot because to tell you the truth he did not like cameras...lol and a few more photo shoots after that getting him us to cameras, after that his book went of like a shot.

And I am so proud to be apart of his life and to watch him take off like a shinning star and I am glade that I found my good friend and could be here for his greatest moments in life so......

HAPPY BIRTHDAY THOMAS DUDER!

Sorry that I am in all the photos...I could not find any of my pictures with only him in them I will have to fix that soon and when I do you will be the first to now :)

Again Happy Birthday my friend and may the world bask in the glory of your success

Happy birthday to me!!!

Well today is my birthday and I opened my Google page to find this
And when I put my mouse over it it said "HAPPY BIRTHDAY VOREL" it made me so happy to see that and I also made myself breakfast since my husband was really tired and it is also our 11th marriage anniversary

Looks tasty huh? and I also had chocolate coffee to go with it my husband made that for me...lol...since the smell of bacon woke the whole house up...lol... But the day isn't over yet!

So I will update you on how my day went tomorrow for now here is my favorite song for my birthday

Adventure Time! New Park additon

So yesterday I went to a fur meeting and at this meeting we were discussing the story idea that was going to be up into the cyber Punk Convention book, we got a lot of ideas down and the story writer is putting some or all our ideas in to the story that was the best meeting I have been to yet because stories are my thing....And we also talked about the Cougar Mountain Sanctuary and how the test with the fur suits went and...IT WAS A SUCCESS!!! Only one animal acted negatively towards the fur suits so one of the tigers will be put in a separate room when we take our annual field trip to the zoo ( sorry i do not have any pictures of it but I will try and get some soon)

But the actual reason for the title of this blog...
My Friend Quinn who is always so kind to run me back and forth to the meeting took me some where so I could look for deer antlers it was a park with a beautiful lake and it is called Samish Park here are some pictures I took because I just could not help myself

this was the view of the other side of the lake...yes I took it through the window of the car lol
and I took a lot of pictures of flowers and trees because I thought they looked pretty

Theses are pictures of a waterfall and the streams...I know some  are very blurry but that was the best I could do with my phone camera...lol

And here is lilly pads and the flotting dock too

Well there you go! my awesome adventure with my friend Quinn and no we never found any antlers but it is a spot to look when that time of year comes when they lose their antlers :)

That's all guys have a nice day

Dorothy Hodgkin Birthday

So to day is Dorothy Hodgkin's birthday...who is she? you ask

Well she was a British biochemist, credited with the development of protein crystallography. She was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1964
She advanced the technique of X-ray crystallography, a method used to determine the three-dimensional structures of bio molecules. Among her most influential discoveries are the confirmation of the structure of penicillin that Ernst Boris Chain and Edward Abraham had previously surmised, and then the structure of vitamin B12, for which she became the third woman to win the Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
In 1969, after 35 years of work and five years after winning the Nobel Prize, Hodgkin was able to decipher the structure of insulin. X-ray crystallography became a widely used tool and was critical in later determining the structures of many biological molecules where knowledge of structure is critical to an understanding of function. She is regarded as one of the pioneer scientists in the field of X-ray crystallography studies of bio molecules. Hodgkin published as Dorothy Crowfoot until 1949, when she was persuaded by Hans Clarke’s secretary to use her married name on her chapter in The Chemistry of Penicillin. Thereafter she always published as Dorothy Crowfoot Hodgkin. This is where I got this little bit from for more information go here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dorothy_Hodgkin)

So do your thing and look her up at the link above and see what else she has done to make our lives and the way hospitals work a little better

Happy Mother's Day

Well everyone tomorrow is Mother's Day!

In the United States it is an annual holiday celebrated on the second Sunday in May. Mother's Day recognizes mothers, motherhood and maternal bonds in general, as well the positive contributions that they make to society. Although many Mother's Day celebrations world-wide have quite different origins and traditions, most have now been influenced by the more recent American tradition established by Anna Jarvis, who celebrated it for the first time in 1907, then campaigned to make it an official holiday. Previous attempts at establishing Mother's Day in the United States sought to promote peace by means of honoring mothers who had lost or were at risk of losing their sons to war.

So get off you butts go out and get your mother some wild flowers, chocolate, make her breakfast in bed or just go out and get some things from your local goodwill or dollar store and make her something yourself (mom's always like homemade stuff)...or if your mother has passed on and is no longer with you do the next best thing and go make her grave stone the prettiest one out there. Also if you live far away from the woman who raised you, give her a call and just say "Happy Mother's Day" we still love hearing from our children.

So from one mother to the world

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

Today is May 3rd and it is once again the parade of species

Last year I took my daughter to be in the wonderful parade and we didn't stay long because she was tired...but this year we did not march in the parade we just sat by and watched along with some of my good friends Quinn and Alder.

At the starte of the event we took our seats at the libaray downtown and watched the periade then we took the path from the samon hatchery down to the park where the peraide was to stop, thinking we would beat it there we walked quickly

But not only did we not beat it there we arrived at the same time to hear the beautiful sound of all different sized glockenspiel playing all our favorite songs and some we had never heard before in the videos I took you can hear the music being played hope you like it as much as I did
